Observations of six southern eclipsing binaries for apsidal motion
Photoelectric UBV observations are presented for the six eclipsingbinaries KX Pup, EO Vel, HH Car, AY Mus, KT Cen, and GM Nor. Photometricelements are determined together with rough estimates of masses andradii. KX Pup, EO Vel, KT Cen, and GM Nor are found to exhibit apsidalmotion in good agreement with theory. HH Car, for which apsidal motionwas previously reported, has a circular orbit and shows a distortedlight curve due to circumstellar matter. AY Mus has stopped eclipsing,apparently because of perturbations by a third body in the system.
