Submit a new article| The opposition effect of 51 Nemausa. From three nights of uvby-observations of 51 Nemausa in September 1994,covering solar phase angle 0.64° to 1.37°, the phase factor as afunction of rotational phase was determined to vary in the range 0.05 to0.13mag/deg. The large values are due to the opposition effect. Anephemeris for physical observations facilitated the reductions andallowed a certain identification of minor details with the 1983 and 1990lightcurves. The difficulties connected with the development oflightcurves in Fourier series are discussed. The advantage of astatistical analysis in terms of uncorrelated normal points isdemonstrated.
