Submit a new article| Trends in copper and zinc abundances for disk and halo stars Results are presented of spectroscopic investigations of the Cu and Znabundances in 40 disk and halo stars. The results confirmed and extendedthe previous findings of Sneden and Crocker (1988). It is shown that theZn abundances closely track the overall metallicities: Zn/M = +0.04 + or- 0.02. However, all metal-poor stars displayed Cu deficiencies, whichappear to vary linearly with metallicity: Cu/M = 0.38(M/H) + 0.15. TheCu-abundance trend in giants of 15 globular clusters is in goodagreement with that of the field stars. The nucleosynthesis implicationsof the obtained results are discussed.
